What are they?

House demons are personalized demons that you can summon to take care of your home and property in the territory of your choosing. They are powered by AI, and you get to craft their looks and personality however your imagination takes you.

Unlike regular demons, house demons are not evil. They consider themselves to be more civilized than their satanic cousins. House demons are devoted to their summoner and have proven to be loyal companions and caretakers.

What do they do?

• You can assign a task for your house demon to perform, which earns you DCORE or Credits when they sell their wares at market each week.
  • Crafting - Make magic trinkets to sell for Credits at the market. Earns almost double in Credits what baking or farming earn in DCORE
  • Baking - Prepare delicious treats to sell for DCORE at the market. Profit is predictable compared to farming
  • Farming - Grow crops to sell for DCORE at the market. Higher risk and reward compared to baking, due to weather conditions
• The Society for the Advancement of House Demons (SAHD) bestows weekly lottery prizes of DCORE and Credits to a house demon in each of 3 randomly selected territories.
• Your house demon sends you messages - full of the personality that you crafted for them - detailing what they've been up to, and what they've observed in the territory where they reside. Currently, they communicate with you weekly, but you will soon have the option to get messages from them more frequently.
• More house demon benefits and features are coming soon, especially in the area of social interaction!

How to get a house demon

• You can go to the Summon a house demon page to customize your own house demon.
• Choose your demon's name, gender, and territory, and then come up with physical and personality tags for your demon. You can also choose whether your demon is public (visible to other players) or private.
• When summoned, your house demon will have a unique profile picture and description, formed by the tags that you chose.
• You can put as many house demons as you want in a given territory, but only one can be activated for that territory.
• After summoning an activated house demon, you can select a task for them to perform. These tasks will pay out weekly, when your house demon sells the fruits of their labor at the local market.

Summoning a house demon costs 5000 Credits (buy Credits here). This price covers the cost of long term storage of your demon's images and other assets, ongoing prizes and benefits that house demon owners receive, and AI services that your house demon will engage with over time. More services and benefits will be added for house demons in the near future!

What are Credits

Credits are used for house demon related purchases in the game, and can be obtained from the Credits Store. Each Credit costs 1 DCORE.

Why Credits

After a lot of deliberation, I decided to implement a Credits system to remove friction and increase reliability for the game. House demons use new and experimental AI services that can sometimes act unpredictably, and it is simple and easy to not charge you Credits if, for example, the image generation service fails.

The alternative would be to require you to confirm a HIVE wallet transaction for each picture that you want generated, and then make sure to reliably refund you DCORE on the HIVE blockchain whenever something goes wrong. In my desire to keep the game simple, I really didn't want to implement a new payment system, but ultimately I think Credits will provide the smoothest and most reliable experience.
